Some 96% of the regions and cities that took part in this year’s Lisbon governance cycle survey declared that local and regional authorities can play a more relevant role in implementing policies to achieve the goals of the EU’s revised jobs and growth strategy.

The Committee of the Regions (CoR) has launched a consultation through its Subsidiarity Monitoring Network to examine new proposals by the European Commission aimed at further liberalisation of the EU’s electricity and gas markets.
